The terms for using the JustMiles app and this website.
Agreement
By downloading or using JustMiles (the “app”) or this website, you agree to these terms. The app is made by True North Management LLC (“we”). Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use JustMiles on Apple devices you own or control. The app, its design, and the JustMiles name and mark belong to us; these terms don’t transfer any of that to you.
Free for early drivers
JustMiles is currently free, and our early-driver promise is simple: if you download the app while it is free, every feature it has stays free for you. If we ever introduce pricing, it will apply to new users — early drivers are grandfathered in.
Not tax advice
JustMiles records mileage and calculates amounts using published IRS standard rates, but it is a record-keeping tool, not a tax advisor. Deductibility of any drive depends on your situation. Verify your reports and consult a tax professional before filing. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of anything you submit to a tax authority or employer.
Your data, your responsibility
Because your drive data is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy), we cannot recover it for you. Keep device backups if your mileage log matters to your taxes — losing or wiping your iPhone without a backup means losing your log.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the app or website unlawfully, don’t attempt to reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it, and don’t abuse the support form (spam, automated submissions, or content you don’t have the right to send).
Disclaimers and liability
The app and website are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. Automatic drive detection depends on your device’s sensors, settings, and iOS itself, and may occasionally miss or misrecord a drive. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including missed deductions or lost data — and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app (currently $0).
Changes and termination
We may update the app, these terms, or stop offering the app. Material changes to these terms take effect when posted here, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept them. The free-for-early-drivers promise above survives any update to these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which True North Management LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
